Reno-Tahoe Odyssey raises money for area nonprofits

Everyone who contributed to the fourth annual Reno-Tahoe Odyssey Relay Run Adventure, which raised more than $41,000 for the Angel Kiss Foundation, Tahoe-Pyramid Bikeway and the Avon Foundation's Need for Speed Against Domestic Violence campaign and its local partner, Safe Embrace. Among the winners were: Intuit, the presenting sponsor, and its employees, for raising nearly $36,000 and providing extra race bags to Hunter Lake Elementary School for children to use during the year; and Wal-Mart, for donating $4,000 to the Angel Kiss Foundation. Also winners: the 1,150 runners in the relay, all of the volunteers, the exchange point owners, People Burning Fat Productions and the rest of the sponsors, including Squaw Valley USA, the Avon Foundation, TCI Wealth Advisors, Pendola Training, Reno Sparks Convention & Visitors Authority, Hammer Nutrition, Go Macro Energy Bars, FRS Healthy Energy, Sierra Summits Skin Products, KREN 27 The CW, Azteca America KAZR46, Reno Wilks Radio, Peppermill, Sands Regency, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, Buckbean Brewing Co., Imperial Bar & Lounge, Cold Stone Creamery, Molten USA, Men Wielding Fire Fine Food and Barbecue, Buenos Grill, REMSA, Granite Construction Supply, Silver State Striders, a group of local HAM radio operators and Balance Therapeutic Massage.
