For those of you looking to sleep and shower in Virginia City, the site of the last van exchange point, the Virginia City RV Park may be just right. It offers reserved parking, showers, and a 24 hour convenience store. It is just a few blocks from the exchange point and the parking area. Call (775) 847-0999 for reservations. Places to eat a meal and get a cup of coffee while on the course:
There are no shortage of restaurants in Truckee, Tahoe City, South Lake Tahoe, Carson City, and Virginia City. Certain restaurants and grocery stores are open 24 hours in South Lake Tahoe and Carson City where you will probably be passing through during the late night and early morning hours.
At the half-way point at the Village Center and at the two-thirds mark at the Carson Valley Center, there are Starbucks and Jamba Juice stores that will be open not at their usual business hours to cater to the runners and satisfy their caffeine and smoothie needs. As a thank you for their being open at such odd hours, please plan to give them your business.
