See the table below indicating mileage and leg assignments for each runner. We encourage you to look at the individual leg maps as well.

  • E – easy (relatively flat, distance varies)
  • M – moderate (relatively flat, distance varies)
  • MC – more challenging
  • MD – most difficult, not MD for call a doctor (some of the steepest climbs)

Each set of legs is ranked from most difficult (1) to easiest (12) to help you assign runners and determine the line-up for a team.
For example, runner running in the No. 1 slot will run Legs 1, 13 and 25. The legs are E, MC and E, respectively totaling 14.3 miles. We ranked it 10th hardest set of legs or 3rd easiest if you look at it that way. The runner running in the No. 7 slot will have the most difficult set of legs giving it the 1 ranking (MC, MD, MD). You might want to assign one of your strongest runners to that set. Keep in mind Leg 4 is the single toughest leg. It is the one leg of the course where we have an individual race: the Donner’s Downfall Leg 4 Time Trial. So your team probably should assign your best runner to take that set of legs.
